Hi diabetes,

I’ve known you for a long time, but I never imagined how well I’d come to know you.

When I met my husband Eric, you were already part of his life. Choosing a future with him meant making room for you in mine too. So I learned to carry some of your weight.

Then you entered our two-year-old son’s life. And suddenly, I learned you by heart. The calculations. The sleepless nights. The supplies packed for every possibility.

I felt the full weight of you.

Now, I carry my son, and in many ways, I carry you, too. Some days, that weight can feel overwhelming.

But we decided a long time ago that we were going to build a life so big, you’d feel small, even when the work of managing you isn’t.

As Dexcom Warriors, we share our story in hopes that other families can see what’s possible.

Because we see the invisible weight they carry, too.

And we hope they know that weight doesn’t have to stop them from going, exploring, and making memories.

So diabetes...

You’re coming along.

Hope you packed for the adventure.

Back to the letters

A letter to diabetes.

If you could say anything to diabetes, what would you say?

A Letter to Diabetes creates a space for people around the world to put into words how they feel about their diabetes journey.

This is about everything you’ve wanted to say, but haven’t found the words.

A letter to diabetes

Throughout November, we’re inviting you to share your letter to diabetes. Whether you live with diabetes, are a caregiver, a healthcare professional, or simply love someone with diabetes, we want to hear your story.

Share it any way that feels authentic to you, through photos, audio, video, or a handwritten letter.

Stories will be reviewed before posting, and while we value every submission, not all stories will be published.
