Diabetes,

Anyway, I’d say it’s been fun, but we both know our relationship is complicated. 17 Years together... my longest relationship (and definitely the most high-maintenance). We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs together. Literally. Every day. You’ve interrupted dates, vacations, sleep...and I mean, honestly, have you ever heard of boundaries? I have to admit, you’ve introduced me to some pretty incredible people, and I'll always be grateful for this community. You somehow even inspired me to write, co-direct, and star in a movie...unreal. You’ve taught me how strong i can be, but sometimes I wish I didn’t have to be strong all the time. You’ve taught me to trust myself, my body, and the things that empower me along the way. You’ve taught me a lot about myself. Mostly that I’m capable of more than I ever thought. Anyway, I’d say it’s been fun, but we both know our relationship is complicated.

With love (I guess),

Kelsey

Back to the letters

A letter to diabetes.

If you could say anything to diabetes, what would you say?

A Letter to Diabetes creates a space for people around the world to put into words how they feel about their diabetes journey.

This is about everything you’ve wanted to say, but haven’t found the words.

A letter to diabetes

Throughout November, we’re inviting you to share your letter to diabetes. Whether you live with diabetes, are a caregiver, a healthcare professional, or simply love someone with diabetes, we want to hear your story.

Share it any way that feels authentic to you, through photos, audio, video, or a handwritten letter.

Stories will be reviewed before posting, and while we value every submission, not all stories will be published.
